After a night sail arriving in Seattle. Weather and completely different look than Vancouver. A very large busy port with many piers close to the city. In all of these muscles is to do something. The bus tour begins, to my mind, quite unpleasant. The sky is overcast, no man in the street, nothing open. Our female driver is also weather guide. I think this is dangerous. With such a large bus through the city and tell your story, but she does fine. First to the old center, to "Pioneer Square Seattle's birthplace in 1852. Here we see an impressive sculpture group of firefighters in memory of the great fire of 1889, the center was destroyed and 37 people died. The buildings were of wood. After the fire was rebuilt in red brick. There are still a lot of not very high brick buildings in the center, which has now been declared monuments and many are restored. Here is also a fountain as a monument to mark the celebration of the founding of UPS, headquartered in Seattle. UPS in addition, other well-known companies based in Seattle, including Starbucks, Boeing Aircraft, and last target as the big nut least, HAL, Holland America Lines!

We are heading to the Space Needle for stunning views over the city also called the "Emerald City". In 42 seconds we whiz up 145 meters high. I notice especially in the Science Museum, a building by Richard Geary. Our guide said that the ugliest building in the city. I do not agree with her, I feel privileged. From here to old houses because they are also behind that you do not need to break if you want an attractive history opbouwen.en not only new forum.

The streets are beautiful and are often steeply, as in San Francisco. Last visit the Pike Place Market, the largest outdoor farmers market on the West Coast. All natural big. Big fish, crabs, and sprouts ....... tulips! The tulips are incredibly large and beautiful bouquet costs U.S. $ 10.00. Traders and bouquet makers Asians. Over a stable, a Dutch name makers times. There seem too large tulip fields around Seattle to be just like us. When I buy a Russian bakery hot apple kaneelbun. Delicious! At the end of the market is the "Flying Fish Stand" If someone buys fish is accompanied by a lot of shouting, packaged and air dropped over the counter. The gum wall, we missed it. We are told that everyone from his gum can come off the wall here on the stick. Good idea, but dirty!
