Rescue mission in the Gulf of Alaska: a sudden heavy strain on the ship! Olav announces a rescue of the American Coast Guard and U.S. Airforce. Within twenty minutes there will be a passenger from the aircraft, which require medical attention on board can not be given. It storms with strong winds and snow storms, so what will happen? We are asked to stay where we are, so no unnecessary traffic on the ship. I immediately put the "bow" TV. That is the image of a camera constantly on the foredeck of the ship and the sea in the sailing direction oriented. Nice when you arrive in a port or departs. Nothing to see, but suddenly appears above the ship, a large helicopter and a small plane. This is accompanied with much noise and it also begins to storm and snow. You feel like a movie script! We watch from the balcony, it seems all very long delays. The ship is nearly silent and began to pound heavily and running with the waves. The helicopter flies at an angle of ninety degrees to the foredeck. The door is open and there is a lifting bar above. The first time failed to appear at the right position to take over the ship because the helicopter is running another round for a second attempt. Then apparently it succeeds because after a while the helicopter flies away, toward Alaska. Except for the flying in and out of the helicopter we could see nothing of the action.

At 20:00 we go to the table and everyone is talking about it. Gisela appears, the ship's doctor at our table with her husband to loud applause and totally relieved! There is a passenger successfully from the aircraft. Everyone thinks the same, it will be about a person's birthday. But no, it would only confuse and Gisela can say is that twenty-six to one husband, who require medical attention that the ship can not provide. They were on the medical service one night and one day already been doing. So we had an interesting conversation about what may happen if all of you and so, at sea, not the Gentiles are delivered .....

The next day, so Thursday, the stories go. The victim was a young man who, every evening and night, the dead were drinking at the bar. He was on board with an older man who was his godfather. This guy has been through many drinks, have a serious liver disease and was not approachable and reasonable. Olav told him she could not help on board and that he also gave the ship a lot of inconvenience to passengers who raped him in the neighborhood had! He is dehelicopter to Kodiak Island and then to a hospital in Anchorage. No further news.

Everything is on board as usual! Party tonight. The ship is still fluctuating, but the weather is on its way to Vancouver, a little better. This is a very long journey to Vancouver.

Last night we had the last formal night and the theme was "Fairy Tales". The fourth and fifth floor again beautifully decorated. When the passengers there was little enthusiasm for dressing up but everyone was' obliged to appear in evening dress. There are a few beautiful dresses, sometimes with allies and our borders "Barbie-passenger" had another ridiculously short pofbroekachtig lace dress. Bruce was the master of ceremonies and talked a witty (twisted) fairy tale together. His staff had the craziest names such as Ella Joyce Salmon instead of Cinderella. All (fairy) story based on events on the ship. At the end it fell from the ceiling, down a ship made of balloons. All balloons were stung by the public document because in four of it was a price! Specifically, it is past 11:00 p.m..

Now we have gradually come to think about the trip and pay for everything. Three cities are awaiting our visit Vancouver, Seattle and Los Angeles.

Friday morning we went to a coffee and chat with Bruce Joyce. He is a kind of prodigy, and plays piano really beautifully. Is also in New York, musical director and conductor on Broadway was. Our bar pianist, "Stryker" is a nice guy but he trembles at loose.
PS Our Dutch friend Frank from Aruba has just won first prize in the photo contest with a picture of a monkey with a mirror shard in his leg which he understands itself. There was a single photo of two penguins on the beach by the passing cruise ship 'Amsterdam' overlooked sail.

Now the "distortions fever" broke out. In Vancouver and Seattle are quite a few people boarded. We all had an information morning and had also said goodbye to all the hotel staff and officers, they all came on stage, smiling and waving and Bruce could not master his emotions. It sounds silly, but four months together in a room (or large and comfortable) creates a bond. We are now aware how it should be for the "debarcation" and the party continues with considerably fewer people.

Our new friends, Frank and Liz Bonset from Aruba've also already left and he gave us 1 more of the bronze boar cured, which are heavy and we do not need two. ... It is duplicate of one of the two bears (very large) to the pool and by an artist.
